WCP is dedicated to expanding the gap in performance, safety, and eco-friendly technologies of lithium-ion batteries and next-generation batteries for the energy revolution.
WCP is developing technology for Sodium-ion (Na), Lithium-Metal, and Lithium-Sulfur batteries to advance the performance, generate profit, and be eco-friendly through the application of existing facilities, to become a innovation leader.
The solid-state battery, the “dream battery”, is composed of solid materials: anode, cathode, and electrolyte. It is gaining attention as the next-generation battery for its advantages. The solid-state battery is combined with the function of electrolyte and separator that enables high energy density for efficiency, which leads to being safe and eco-friendly.
Solid electrolytes that combine the functions of electrolyte and separator in lithium-ion batteries are classified into sulfide-based, oxide-based, and polymer-based electrolytes. WCP develops polymer-based electrolytes through existing facilities. Polymer electrolytes have the advantages of existing separator/liquid electrolytes and have higher interfacial affinity compared to solid-state electrolytes.
Development of next-generation batteries, such as Sodium-ion, Lithium-Metal, and Lithium-Sulfur are in progress to improve performance, energy density, and safety while reducing costs and being eco-friendly. WCP is leading the development of next-generation battery material to align with fast growing trend.
